Under my ears is the slightest protrusion of a jaw bone. It’s a good thing I’m not a man, or that jaw line wouldn’t have much potential for being attractive. I have a couple of chins, but the main one comes out from my jaw into a rounded mound that gets this weird circle thing in the middle of it when I frown. I think I got that from my Daddy, because Mama’s got a swell cleft in her chin (like Gaston). My chin is kind of a gateway to my brain. It quivers when I try not to yawn. It shakes like a salt shaker when I’m about to cry. It gets dimply and spotted-looking when I purse my lips in disdain. But it also gives me a way to rest my head on my hand while still looking forward and pretending to pay attention in class. It makes for a great nose when I’m upside-down.
My chin is a blessing.
