Making a good life great

During a conversation with a friend last week, I decided it's been much too long since I've written up my bucket list and really thought about some of the things I want to accomplish in my life. I've done plenty of cool things already--things that have changed my life and hopefully blessed the lives of others--but there's something about doing things because you've set a goal that just makes it so much more satisfying when you finally do it. So here it is, my official bucket list. I'm planning to have completed at least a few of these by the end of this year, so stay tuned for updates on my progress!

Also, I'm looking for inspiration for more things to do, and it's fun to have goals in common with your friends, because you can accomplish and celebrate them together. So what are some things on your bucket list?

  • Solve a Rubik's cube in 30 seconds or less
  • Learn cake decorating skills so I can make cool cakes for my kids

  • Go hang gliding
  • Go rock climbing and rappelling
  • Sleep in a castle
  • Fly a plane (possibly even get a pilot's license)
  • Go whitewater rafting
  • Donate blood (I put this under "adventures" because I don't do well with needles.)

  • Visit Italy (especially Tuscany)

  • Section-hike the entire Appalachian Trail
  • Revisit London, Cardiff, Snowdonia, Rome, Madrid, and the Lake District

Service/Love/Future Home

  • Send an uplifting message in a bottle
  • Be someone's hero
  • Write "thank you" letters to all of my heroes
  • Say "I love you" to someone every day
  • Find the love of my life and marry him
  • Sew my own wedding dress (with my Mama)
  • Hold hands with my husband every chance I get--no matter how old we are

  1. Katelyn, you are my heroine so you can check that off your list.

We should get a group to make paper lanterns and release them! That would be so much fun!
